TP-Link launches PTZ5425 camera for business sites

Wed, 29th Apr 2026 (Today)

VIGI by TP-Link has launched the PTZ5425 surveillance camera for businesses that need wider outdoor monitoring from a single unit.

Designed for sites such as car parks, warehouses and office exteriors, it is intended to help operators monitor larger areas and capture detail at distance. The model adds pan-tilt-zoom capability to the wider VIGI surveillance range, which also includes dome, turret and bullet cameras.

The PTZ5425 features 25x optical zoom, 360° endless pan and a tilt range of -18° to 90°, allowing it to cover large spaces that might otherwise require several fixed cameras.

Active response

It also includes auto-tracking and customised patrol functions to follow movement and reduce blind spots. For on-site response, the camera has red and blue flashing lights, a siren and built-in two-way audio.

The launch comes as suppliers in the security market place greater emphasis on intervention and real-time response rather than simple recording. Businesses have also looked to reduce the amount of manual monitoring needed across larger sites.

Outdoor use is central to the product pitch. The unit carries IP66 weatherproofing and includes Digital Defog and Electronic Image Stabilization to maintain image quality in difficult conditions.

Management tools

Alongside the hardware, VIGI is positioning the camera as part of a broader management system. The PTZ5425 works with the VIGI App, VIGI Cloud VMS, VIGI VMS and VIGI Config Tool for monitoring, management and maintenance across multiple sites.

The device also integrates with TP-Link's Omada networking platform, giving installers a single interface for network and surveillance administration. It also supports Open API and ONVIF compliance, allowing integration with third-party video management systems.

That interoperability matters for small and medium-sized businesses, which often add security equipment gradually rather than replacing existing systems at once. A camera that fits into current software and network setups may reduce the need for a broader overhaul.

The product extends TP-Link's push into business surveillance, as networking vendors increasingly seek to combine connectivity infrastructure with cameras and management software. For resellers and installers, that creates a broader product set to offer customers looking for a single supplier across networking and security.

Market push

Ben Allcock, Vice President of B2B at TP-Link UK&I, linked the launch to changing expectations in the security sector.

"Businesses are increasingly recognising a passive approach to surveillance is no longer fit for today's security requirements," said Ben Allcock, Vice President of B2B, TP-Link UK&I.

"With the new PTZ5425 camera, TP-Link is providing an intelligent security solution that provides businesses with the proactive protection capabilities they need, ensuring they are able to identify threats and respond with confidence," added Allcock.

VIGI markets its products primarily at small and medium-sized businesses across sectors including retail, hospitality, education and offices. Its line-up spans cameras, network video recorders, software tools and related equipment.

For TP-Link, the launch reflects a wider effort to deepen its presence in commercial technology markets beyond its established networking products. By linking surveillance products with its Omada platform, the company is targeting customers that want a more unified approach to site infrastructure and security.

The PTZ5425 combines long-range monitoring, tracking functions and active warning features in a single outdoor camera, underlining how the business surveillance market is shifting towards systems expected not just to record incidents but to react to them.
