Trend Micro recognised as leader in 2025 IDC MarketScape report

Wed, 27th Aug 2025

Trend Micro has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Exposure Management 2025 Vendor Assessment for its Cyber Risk Exposure Management offering.

The IDC MarketScape assessment identified several of Trend Micro's strengths, with an emphasis on the combination of native security posture management tools and integration with third-party solutions, which together provide comprehensive exposure telemetry to the company's Cyber Risk Exposure Management (CREM) platform.

The IDC MarketScape report highlighted that these integrations enable organisations to manage exposure from various sources, including identity-related risks, within a single, centralised platform. The report found that users are able to configure Vision One playbooks to automate both endpoint and account remediation tasks, streamlining cyber risk management within the business environment.

Trend Micro's platform incorporates GenAI-powered insights through the Trend Companion GenAI assistant. This tool enables users to ask natural language questions concerning exposures identified within the platform, and to receive tailored suggestions for enhancing security depending on the context within the platform. Prompts and suggestions are presented based on where the user is navigating within the interface.

Andrew Philp, Field CISO, ANZ at Trend, commented on the assessment and the benefits of the Cyber Risk Exposure Management solution for organisations.

"Running a successful business is all about managing risk effectively. With our exposure management solution, organisations are empowered to proactively understand and manage exposure across their entire environment from a single location. It's compliance and risk management made easy to help align cybersecurity to business and innovation objectives."

The IDC MarketScape also addressed the suitability of Trend Vision One for enterprise use, with a specific reference to risk reduction and the elimination of operational silos. The report described the solution as being particularly appropriate for enterprises seeking to bring together multiple security tools, automate incident response, and maintain compliance reporting within the Trend Micro ecosystem.

The IDC MarketScape stated, "Trend Vision One Cyber Risk Exposure Management is particularly well suited for enterprises aiming to consolidate security tools and automate remediation, with the added ability to report on compliance requirements within the Trend Micro ecosystem. The solution is an optimal fit for buyers that value integrated asset discovery, predictive analytics, and automated response within a single platform, especially where reducing operational silos and achieving measurable risk reduction are strategic priorities."

The broader context for the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Exposure Management 2025 Vendor Assessment lies in its evaluation criteria, which incorporates both qualitative and quantitative measures to grade the competitive standing of technology suppliers. The analysis covers aspects such as product functionality, go-to-market approach, business execution, and alignment of the supplier's strategy with evolving customer needs over a three to five year window. Supplier performance and capacity to meet customer requirements are visually represented in the IDC MarketScape's reporting methodology.

Trend Micro's positioning as a Leader in the 2025 assessment follows the company's commitment to providing cyber security platforms that combine proactive risk management capabilities, asset discovery, and automated remediation. The solution is tailored to support enterprises looking to improve compliance tracking and operational efficiency as part of wider strategies to manage cyber risk.
