TrendAI has passed USD $1 billion in global sales through AWS Marketplace, becoming the first Asia Pacific and Japan-based AI security partner to reach that level.

The milestone reflects the company's long-running partnership with Amazon Web Services and its route to market through the cloud provider's software marketplace.

According to TrendAI, the sales figure highlights a procurement model that lets customers buy its security products against existing AWS committed spend and receive the charges on a single AWS bill. Customers can also transact through channel partners rather than dealing directly with the vendor.

TrendAI has worked with AWS Marketplace since its early years. In 2014, it adopted consumption-based billing and later supported launches including AWS Standard Contract, software-as-a-service free trials, pay-as-you-go purchasing, and Buy With AWS.

Its commercial ties with AWS also extend into the partner channel. In 2018, TrendAI was a design and launch partner for AWS's Channel Partner Private Offer model, which allows partners to transact through Marketplace.

Marketplace push

AWS said the relationship has helped shape its marketplace tools over several years.

"TrendAI was one of the first technology partners AWS worked with to build AWS Marketplace from the ground up. Surpassing $1 billion in global Marketplace sales as our first APJ-based AI security partner to reach that level of adoption signals the depth of customer demand for AI security built into the platform they already run," said Allison Johnson, Director, Americas Technology Partners Team, Amazon Web Services.

"As an exceptional design partner, TrendAI helped shape Marketplace capabilities like private offers, consulting partner private offers (CPPO), and consumption-based billing, tools that help customers procure and deploy security solutions faster. Today, TrendAI supports integrations across more than 80 AWS services, giving customers unified visibility across their cloud environments. That depth means organisations running AI workloads on AWS can secure them natively, without stitching together point solutions. It's exactly the model we're building on as we extend into AI security together," Johnson said.

TrendAI now supports integrations across more than 80 AWS services and holds 12 AWS competencies and five field-engagement designations, according to the company.

The business is positioning that integration around demand from organisations adopting artificial intelligence systems within existing cloud estates. Its current focus includes monitoring AI deployments, detecting security issues linked to AI use, and a memory function for its advisory tools that retains context from previous interactions.

These products are sold through AWS Marketplace and form part of TrendAI Vision One, the company's broader cyber security platform. TrendAI said the platform is also backed by its Zero Day Initiative research community.

AI focus

Company leadership linked the sales milestone to a broader strategic shift toward AI security.

"Last year we rebuilt ourselves as TrendAI, an AI-first security company, because we believe the next decade of security is about AI," said Rachel Jin, Chief Platform and Business Officer, Head of TrendAI.

"Customers are adopting AI faster than they can secure it. Our strong record of innovation gives us the foundation to change that and help organisations adopt AI securely," Jin said.

In Australia and New Zealand, TrendAI said the AWS relationship gives local channel partners a way to stay involved in customer procurement while using AWS Marketplace as the transaction layer. That is significant in markets where enterprise buyers often rely on established reseller and consulting relationships.

"For partners across Australia and New Zealand, the strength of our relationship with AWS is unlocking new revenue opportunities and real security outcomes as AI becomes core enterprise infrastructure," said Chris Zamagias, Channel & Alliances Director, ANZ at TrendAI.

"Our deep integration and joint innovation with AWS gives local partners the reach and ease of AWS Marketplace, helping customers secure their cloud and AI environments while remaining at the centre of trusted customer relationships," Zamagias said.

The company also pointed to customer buying patterns as evidence that the marketplace model reduces friction. One user said the billing arrangement removed the need for a separate purchasing process and helped consolidate visibility across different environments.

"Buying through AWS Marketplace meant no separate procurement cycle and no big check upfront - it just landed on the AWS bill we already had," said Tom Petkoff, Senior Network Manager, The Step2 Company.

"We went from four dashboards and no single answer to one, covering AWS, our on-premises systems and the plant floor. With a team our size, that's the difference between cleaning up after an incident and stopping the next one," Petkoff said.

TrendAI said its staff have completed more than 500 AWS certifications. The company has also been recognised nine times as an AWS Partner of the Year, including for marketplace and regional technology partner awards.
