TUANZ is celebrating its 25th anniversary concurrently with this year's Telecommunications Day, held 19 May, 2011.
However, the focus of the event won't be on the last 25 years, but on the next 25.
The organisation's website says the programme for the day will consider "such things as cellphones, fibre to the farm, RFID tags on every sheep, nanotechnology computers built into our clothing, population explosion, virtual reality tourism, research and education".
The Telecommunications Day programme is online here. If you're keen, go ahead and register here.
