TVNZ app cracks 10,000 downloads

In less than a fortnight TVNZ’s free iphone application has been downloaded 10,000 times.Spokesperson Andi Brotherston says with an estimated 30,000 – 40,000 iphones in use in New Zealand, the broadcaster has reached up 30% of the market with its app.The app's features include news updates, weather information and television schedules. Launched on 5 October, it had achieved the number one spot for free apps in the NZ iTunes store in five days with around 3000 downloads.TVNZ’s business manager of emerging and social platforms Sophie Lyon says this is the first version of the app. “We’re planning to rollout changes and improvements as new features become available on the iPhone.”
