UiPath unveils AI-enhanced Test Cloud to boost productivity

Yesterday

UiPath has announced the introduction of UiPath Test Cloud, a service designed to integrate AI agents into software testing with the aim of boosting tester productivity throughout the entire testing lifecycle, improving operational efficiency, and reducing costs.

The company highlighted the inefficiencies of traditional manual testing and test automation with legacy tools, which have been characterised as costly, slow, and resource-intensive.

A study conducted by IDC, commissioned by UiPath, revealed that organisations utilising Test Cloud saw a 36% improvement in test efficiency, doubled their throughput in delivering new features, and reduced outages by 50% alongside a 93% reduction in troubleshooting time.

UiPath Test Cloud represents a shift towards AI-augmented testing, combining human expertise with AI agents to enhance productivity. The product aims to tackle both technical and personal challenges encountered by testers in today's increasingly complex software development environment.

"Agentic testing marks an exciting new era for companies to advance an area of their business that is still stubbornly manual and time intensive," said Gerd Weishaar, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Testing Products at UiPath.

"With Test Cloud, testing teams engage interactively with AI agents that act like partners in collaborating, supporting, and working in tandem with testing professionals around the clock across the entire testing lifecycle."

The software incorporates features such as Autopilot for Testers and the Agent Builder toolkit.

Autopilot provides an out-of-the-box agent utilising a combination of built-in and customisable AI capabilities.

Meanwhile, Agent Builder allows teams to create custom AI agents according to their own specifications, providing flexibility tailored to their specific testing requirements.

Corporations, including Cisco, have reported tangible benefits from the implementation of UiPath's Test Cloud.

Cisco, for instance, is reportedly halving its manual testing efforts, enabling their testing teams to redirect focus to more strategic challenges that benefit from human intuition and decision-making capabilities.

Gerd Weishaar also noted, "Traditional testing is recognised by CIOs and CTOs as the biggest bottleneck to delivering new innovations to customers rapidly."

"Implementing agentic testing with Test Cloud enables faster time to market and improves production stability, which increases customer satisfaction and helps companies grow revenue."

The Test Cloud offering provides robust automation capabilities for modern and enterprise applications, alongside a specialised deployment environment for testing needs. It is described as equipping testing professionals with enterprise-ready, production-grade automation solutions.

The platform supports resilient end-to-end automation, suitable for any UI or API of modern web, mobile, and enterprise applications like SAP and Oracle.

Businesses can benefit from production-grade architecture designed for secure application testing, with industry-standard compliance for auditing, role management, and centralised credentialing.

The commitment to open, flexible, and responsible AI is underscored by the UiPath AI Trust Layer, which ensures agentic testing capabilities adhere to high standards of security, safety, and governance.

The platform also provides enterprise-wide automation by enabling the sharing and reuse of components across teams, supporting CI/CD integrations, ALM integrations, version control, and offering a range of development tools and resources.
