Update: First 'Honeycomb' wi-fi tablet dated
Just as iPad 2 prepares to go on sale around the world on March 25th, the first wi-fi tablet running the Honeycomb OS is about to enter the great tablet race.
Launching first in the US on March 27th the 10.1-inch tablet will be stocked by major retailers such as Amazon.com, Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Sam's Club, Staples and Walmart.
The 32GB model ships with an RRP of US$599.
"Motorola Xoom is a truly innovative tablet - its design, coupled with being the first tablet to have Android 3.0, results in a user experience that is one-of-a-kind," said Dan Papalia, VP of retail sales for Motorola Mobility.
The device will also be available in the US through the channel via a distribution agreement with Synnex and regional carriers through Brightpoint.
