Rob Spray resigns from TIG - Updated
Tue, 19th Oct 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Rob Spray has confirmed to Telecommunications Review that he has resigned from his post of Chief Executive Officer at the Telecommunications Industry Group.

Russell Stanners, Chairman of the TIG, said, "Rob has done a great job working with the board in developing the industry group. Twelve months on and the industry is working well together which is a tribute to Rob's efforts as CEO. I and the TIG board wish him every success in his next venture.

TIG will not immediately be recruiting a replacement CEO.

“Given the potentially significant changes that could arise over the next few months as decisions are made around UFB, RBI and Telecom separation, the board has decided to wait until we have better clarity on the future shape of the industry,” Stanners added.

When asked about his reasons for resigning, Spray was tight-lipped, only saying, “Sorry can't talk about where I'm going till next week.

With TUANZ Chief Executive Ernie Newman recently resigning from this role, it wouldn't surprise anyone if Spray filled that gap.

Spray is a judge in our 40 Most Influential People in Telecommunications, which you can catch up on here.

Update: Since publication Spray has ruled out a TUANZ role.
