Village Roadshow Selects Sitecore CMS as the Foundation for its Online Marketing Strategy
Brisbane, Australia, 19 July 2010 – Sitecore, the leading provider of .NET Web Content Management System (CMS) software, today announced that entertainment and media powerhouse, Village Roadshow, has chosen Sitecore CMS as the foundation for its new online presence.
Sitecore’s CMS, including Online Marketing Suite (OMS), will enable and integrate a wide variety of websites for Village Roadshow’s many businesses including Village Cinemas, MyFun, Intencity, MyFun DVD, Roadshow Films, Roadshow Distribution, Roadshow Music and Warner Roadshow Studios.
Village Roadshow websites will utilise the stand out personalisation features of Sitecore’s Online Marketing Suite offering real time personalisation where content will adjust and be tailored to fit the interests and browsing behaviour of visitors as they make their way through the sites. Other features will include state based geographical identification allowing visitors from different Australian states to view content geographically relevant to them. The site will also be integrated with a number of Village Roadshow eCommerce and membership systems.
“After assessing a number of CMS products against the requirements and goals of Village Roadshow it was obvious that Sitecore was most aligned with our technical and business needs,” said Amanda Pooley, Web Applications Analyst for Village Roadshow and Project Manager for the Sitecore Implementation.
“Our previous websites were based upon a custom built CMS and did not support the vision we have for our online strategy going forward. The new Village Roadshow sites will serve customised information to our customers. We believe that by offering our online visitors information that caters to their interests we will see higher levels of conversions from online visits to purchases. We are planning on migrating all Australian based Village Roadshow websites to Sitecore CMS within the next 12 months and are beginning to look at moving our international sites to Sitecore as well.”
Village Roadshow will use Sitecore’s OMS analytics data to drive personalisation and multivariate testing within the website. Sitecore’s website analytics will improve business intelligence available to help marketing and sales teams across divisions to accelerate sales and tailor their website for maximum effectiveness.
“Sitecore’s Online Marketing Suite will allow Village Roadshow to provide its customers with a targeted and engaging online experience,” said Philipp Heltewig, Managing Director, Sitecore Australia and New Zealand. “For example, a customer may review a Batman DVD from Village Roadshow’s DVD website, and then may also be shown other Batman products available and information on the Batman ride at Warner Brothers MovieWorld. This personalisation functionality means that customers receive content that is aligned with their interests while Village Roadshow can easily track and better understand their online visitors and direct the company’s marketing initiatives accordingly.”
