Vodafone asked for mobile termination proposal

Thu, 7th Oct 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The Commerce Commission has today pointed the finger at Vodafone and asked it to prepare a proposal for terminating mobile calls and text messages.

This proposal will have to specify the non-price terms and conditions on which mobile termination services should be made available to both mobile and fixed line operators.

The price of the mobile termination access services will be specified by the Commission.

The first stage of the process was held yesterday in the form of a workshop for the teleco industry and other interested parties.

Vodafone is required to submit the standard terms proposal by 5pm, on November 5th.

The Commission will then seek submissions before issuing a draft.

Following the release of the draft, the Commission will engage in further industry consultation with a final standard terms document released by the end of March, 2011.
