Vodafone boosts its 3G network

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Vodafone has made some tweaks and changes to its 3G network over the weekend that should have made 3G web browsing faster.

“Over the weekend we optimised our mobile data network and have improved the speed of web browsing for all 3G data devices (ie Vodems and Smartphones),” the firm said in a short statement.

“Smartphone and mobile broadband web browsing will now feel much ‘snappier’ with pages downloading faster than before.”

If you’re a bit unsure, Vodafone says you should go and download a speed test on your phone and take a look for yourself.

“Popular speed tests that use the web (like vodafone.co.nz/speedtest and the iPhone speedtest app) will now also show much better results,” Vodafone promised.
