Vodafone: No date yet for Samsung Galaxy Tab

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Last week Samsung launched its Android-powered Galaxy Tab into the European market and says to expect a wider release in the coming months.

Vodafone New Zealand has confirmed it will stock the tablet but couldn’t confirm a local release date.

“Samsung hasn’t released the availability dates yet and we haven’t got a price but we will be stocking it,” a Vodafone spokesperson confirmed today.

This is no surprise given that Vodafone recently announced the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy smartphone into New Zealand.

“Samsung recognises the tremendous growth potential in this newly created market and we believe that the Samsung Galaxy Tab brings a unique and open proposition to market. There is a new and emerging consumer demand that Samsung can satisfy since mobile is in our DNA. This demand continues to grow and develop as users tap its limitless potential,” said JK Shin, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.”

The Android-powered 2.2 tablet features a 7” TFT-LCD display, is 380g and supports Adobe Flash Player 10.1. Shin said it was designed to enable consumers to maximise their online experience.
