FYI, this story is more than a year old

Less than two weeks after Telecom announced it would launch the Android-powered Motorola Milestone in New Zealand on July 1st, comes word of three more Androids targeting our shores.

After launching the HTC Magic and Sony Ericsson X10i, Vodafone will soon add three more smartphones to its portfolio.

There's the HTC Desire (NZ$999, less on contract), Sony Ericsson’s X10i Mini Pro (NZ$599) and LG’s Optimus (NZ$399). All three will be available in July.

Vodafone’s Director of Sales, Grant Hopkins, says the company is leading the smartphone revolution in New Zealand.

“We already offer some of the world’s best-known brands in the smartphone space and now with this full range of Androids at different price points, we have the country’s most complete range of smartphones," he said.
