Westcon-Comstor to offer FlashStack solution for NZ partners
Global technology provider and distributor, Westcon-Comstor, announced that it will be offering New Zealand partners the opportunity to leverage the FlashStack infrastructure solution. This comes as a result of an evolution in its partnership with IT pioneer, Pure Storage, known for delivering globally advanced data storage technology and services.
The FlashStack solution, a collaboration between Pure Storage and tech giant, Cisco, brings cloud-like agility and pay-as-you-use pricing across hybrid-cloud environments. In addition, it employs cutting-edge AI-based management to oversee on-premises infrastructure, thus providing capacity-on-demand across multicloud environments.
The comprehensive solution integrates the flexibility of Cisco's compute capacities with Pure Storage's purpose-built all-flash storage. The primary aim is to meet specific performance requirements whilst optimising ease of management and minimising the total cost of ownership.
The facilitation of FlashStack for its Kiwi partners has been made feasible by transitioning Pure Storage from Westcon's line of business to its Cisco-focused unit, Comstor. This move allows the distributor to expertly enhance the services it provides to its partners.
To further perpetuate this change, Comstor, New Zealand will assemble a fully dedicated Pure Storage team. The objective of this team will be to provide partners with an all-round specialist support along with education and enablement. This initiative signifies a commitment towards providing a range of value-added services that align with the goal to inflate their storage and infrastructure revenues.
With this move, Comstor New Zealand will gain access to Pure Storage's top-tier range of all-flash data storage and management technologies. This offers an enticing value proposition for customers in search of efficient and reliable infrastructure solutions.
The partnership between Pure Storage and Cisco is also strengthened by the exclusive FlashStack, emphasising Cisco's commitment to sustainable data centre and storage solutions.
"The combination of Cisco and Pure Storage through FlashStack offers a unique opportunity for our partners, from managed service providers (MSPs) to value-added resellers (VARs), to access a market-leading integrated solution," said Dave Rosenberg, Managing Director, New Zealand at Westcon-Comstor. He added, this unprecedented synergy "aligns with our regional strategy in A/NZ and creates a compelling offering for partners and end-users."
Sam Schuurman, the Country Manager at Pure Storage, spoke on the significant effects this move will have on their go-to-market strategies with one of their most strategic technology alliance partners, Cisco. He said, the integration of the Pure Storage portfolio into the Comstor business "will drive our joint FlashStack solution into the conversation for more of the converged private and hybrid clouds." He says the change will also rejuvenate Portworx, their cloud-native business, and align better with the market changes in New Zealand.
