Xero adds landmark building in Wellington's 'hi-tech precinct'
Tue, 12th Nov 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Xero is expanding into a third building in Wellington, moving into the capital's “hi-tech precinct”, with Trade Me, NZX, Infratil and other firms nearby.

Known as the Manthel building, the new property is on the high profile corner of Taranaki St and Wakefield St, in view of the existing Xero HQ - also across the road from an additional space the company is also leasing in Wakefield Street.

The building is being repainted as shown in the picture mockup and will be called Xero Two, with staff expected to start moving in from the end of December this year.

"We will take the ground floor of the building for an initial term of just over two years," says Richard Wood, Media Manager, Xero. "We are excited about the location and unique character of the building and the landlord is committed to further development work around further space.

"We now have offices in Auckland, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Milton Keynes, London, San Francisco and Denver and a number of smaller facilities in other cities.

"We are benefiting from a strong culture and extensive use of online technology in dealing with multiple locations, ensuring there are regular team and cross-team meetings and using collaborative cloud services such as Google Docs, Yammer, Skype and Office 365.

"Wellington has the most staff and numbers may reach over 350 by the end of FY14."
