Yamaha has new technology for small meeting rooms

FYI, this story is more than a year old

From motorcycles to instruments, the Japanese conglomerate Yamaha has a wide range of products and services. And the company has added the CS-700 to the list.

The CS-700 is a wall mounted conferencing system that brings together audio, video and collaboration capabilities.

Yamaha entered the conferencing market in 2006 with microphone and speaker systems. In 2014, Yamaha acquired Revolabs Inc., an audio solutions provider for enterprise collaboration.

As businesses and organisations continue to use technology to communicate over distances, there has been a proliferation of huddle rooms or small meeting rooms.

Huddle rooms demand technologies that make communicating a seamless, collaborative experience. The CS-700 aims to support these environments.

"The Yamaha CS-700 is the first of many solutions that combine the market expertise of Revolabs with the product expertise of Yamaha to deliver excellent audio, video, and collaboration capabilities," explains Yoshi Tsugawa, director, Yamaha Commercial Audio Department.

The system combines Revolabs' microphone technology and Yamaha's loudspeaker engineering with screen sharing capabilities from a single USB connection.

In addition, CS-700 has four speaker elements and an integrated USB port able to connect with the organisation's chosen communication platform.

The unit's camera captures all meeting participants in the room, even those close to the camera, and the "pixel-per-face" resolution recognises nuanced facial expressions.

The CS-700 network management system allows IT staff to remotely manage each unit from one location.

Tsugawa states that "the CS-700 is the first product in this initiative to demonstrate Yamaha's commitment to the business collaboration market and improving the meeting experience at every level.
