This year the IT Service Management Forum New Zealand chapter will be celebrating its 10th annual conference in Wellington. The event takes place May 5-7.

Ten years is a long time in IT so the team at itSMFnz are preparing for a big celebration in recognition of itSMFnz's humble beginnings to now being New Zealand's premier service management organisation.

"We are really proud of how far this event has come and how much value delegates get from this conference," says Tristan Boot, President, itSMFnz.

“It is really pleasing to hear from first time attendees, and see them excited about going back to work armed with new strategies, and new contacts to discuss ideas with".

The conference attracts a wide variety of delegates ranging from IT specialists, Team Managers to CIOs.

“The event is a melting pot of IT professionals from different industries, from the small software development companies rubbing shoulders with large outsourcing service providers," Boot says.

Presentations are delivered by a variety of speakers from industry thought leaders to IT specialists sharing their own experiences, “this makes it a very open and honest conference; no one has agendas, the focus is to share information so that IT can offer better customer-aligned services".

This year’s keynote speakers include, Charles Araujo, Rob England; The IT Skeptic, Karen Ferris, and Andy Keiller.

Charles Araujo is an internationally recognised authority on IT leadership and is the author of The Quantum Age of IT: Why Everything You Know About IT is About to Change. He shares his message of hope about the future of IT and what it means for all of us.

Rob England; The IT Skeptic, also provides his incisive insights into IT Service Management where he is an internationally respected thought leader.

Karen Ferris is an internationally acclaimed speaker with a reputation for providing both strategic and practical advice and insights for organisations in their implementation and maintenance of effective Service Management.

Andy Keiller is the CIO at the University of Canterbury, responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Operations and Infrastructure Group, the Applications and System support group and Project Management Office. He shares his insights into managing IT services in one of NZ’s biggest Universities.

This year's event is being celebrated at The Museum of New Zealand - Te Papa, Wellington with a full three day program, gala awards dinner with Geoff Dolan as Master of Ceremonies.
