Zoe Udy has been unanimously elected as Deputy Chair of the TUANZ Board. With a robust background in technology and digital solutions, Udy has been a notable presence in the sector, particularly through her leadership roles in various organisations. Raised as a digital native, she pursued a degree in Computer Science that paved the way for her career in IT Project Management and Solution Architecture. Currently, Udy is affiliated with a Digital Agency based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.

In her new role, Udy is expected to further her advocacy for technology's role in ensuring equitable and positive health outcomes for all New Zealanders. Her commitment to technology education is well-documented, notably through her tenure as Chair of FLINT Wellington, where she worked to engage students in technology at critical stages of their education. Her efforts aimed to support young professionals early in their careers, with a focus on creating a diverse and skilled future workforce.

Udy joined the TUANZ Board in 2019 and has quickly ascended to the position of Deputy Chair. "We are thrilled to see Zoe's journey from a member of FLINT, to a leader of FLINT, and then election to the Board, and now as Deputy Chair. I would personally like to acknowledge Zoe for her ongoing commitment of time and contribution to TUANZ," said Tristan Ilich, Board Chair of TUANZ.

The Tech Users Association of New Zealand (TUANZ) has a storied history of representing users of communications and digital technology. The organisation has been active for more than 35 years, and its vision is to see New Zealand become a top 10 digital-ready nation by 2030. TUANZ serves as an independent voice for its members and users navigating the complexities of the digital world. The organisation underlines the importance of access to technology as vital for digital business and a force for social good.

TUANZ operates as a bridge to decision-makers and emerging leaders within the technology sector. The association boasts a community of over 1,400 individuals who work in various capacities within member organisations, engaging with or being responsible for digital technology.

As Deputy Chair, Udy's extensive experience and passion for technology will likely play a crucial role in advancing TUANZ's aims. Her background in hands-on technology roles and leadership capacities equips her with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities within New Zealand's digital landscape. Her election reflects a vote of confidence in her vision and dedication to the field.

Udy's appointment is particularly timely as New Zealand continues on its path towards greater digital integration and readiness. Her focus on equitable health outcomes through technology aligns with broader national and global trends toward using tech solutions to address social issues.

The leadership at TUANZ believes that Udy will bring valuable insights and energy that will benefit the organisation and its members. Her track record in engaging with young talent and pushing for educational initiatives in technology suggests that she will continue to foster a culture of learning and innovation within the association.
