Zscaler bolsters its APJ leadership team to maximise regional growth
Tue, 28th Nov 2023

Cloud security leader Zscaler has made significant enhancements to its Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) leadership team as it continues to prioritise growth and innovation across the region. These latest appointments, which include industry veteran Andreas Hartl as Senior Vice President, aim to assure customers of seamless zero trust journeys.

Andreas Hartl's remit as Senior VP for APJ at Zscaler includes overseeing personnel growth, business strategy, and regional investment. The move comes as Zscaler strives to help its clients remain secure while adopting emerging technologies such as Generative AI.

A recent survey has revealed that 62% of APJ enterprises see these AI tools as a potential threat rather than an opportunity. Despite this, around 97% of these organisations continue to utilise these technologies. Given the delicate balance between the cyber risks and the benefits of such technologies, Zscaler's focus on zero trust architecture becomes even more crucial.

Before joining Zscaler, Hartl held key positions at Aveva, IBM and Microsoft. His duties included building and managing high-performance teams across various regions, a role in which he achieved notable growth in revenue and market penetration.

Hartl, renowned in the industry for his strategic vision, exceptional leadership skills, and ability to build robust relationships with clients and partners, has nearly 30 years of experience in the IT sector. Versed in generating growth and enabling digital transformation, he is well-positioned to fulfil Zscaler's objectives.

"I am thrilled about the opportunity to join Zscaler and immerse in its strong culture of innovation and unwavering customer dedication. As more organisations continue to double down on zero trust architecture, there is great potential to drive purposeful change," states Hartl.

Further, Zscaler has bolstered its leadership team with the appointments of Ryan Gillis as the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Government Partnerships, Claudionor Coelho Jr. as Chief AI Officer and Mohamed Shabar as EVP, Data & AI Platforms. These additions come as part of a broader strategy, aimed to enhance development and growth in the APJ region.

Zscaler's commitment to innovation and customer-centric security has put them at the forefront of the IT security landscape. Their additions to the leadership team across the APJ region solidify their standing as a leading pioneer in advanced technologies that support a zero trust strategy. By continuously strengthening their leadership team, Zscaler assures its customers of a deeper, more enriching engagement.
