Zscaler collaborates with Google & NVIDIA to enhance security

Wed, 12th Jun 2024

Cloud security vendor Zscaler has unveiled significant advancements in collaboration with tech giants Google and NVIDIA. The announcements, made at Zenith Live 2024, signal a strengthened partnership with Google and a novel collaboration with NVIDIA to enhance their cybersecurity and AI operations.

Zscaler's renewed partnership with Google aims to simplify and bolster Zero Trust strategies for organisations leveraging Google technologies. Through integration with Google Chrome Enterprise, millions of enterprise users will benefit from enhanced threat and data protection without the cumbersome requirement of legacy VPNs or additional browsers. Further integration with Google Workspace is set to mitigate the risk of sensitive enterprise data exfiltration from applications such as Gmail and Google Drive.

Punit Minocha, EVP of Business and Corporate Development at Zscaler noted, "We are thrilled to partner with Google to deliver a comprehensive Zero Trust security solution through Chrome Enterprise that enables secure access to applications without the need for VPNs or new enterprise browsers." Additionally, Zscaler’s integration with Google Security Operations will furnish organisations with robust security insights and threat detection capabilities.

The recent Zscaler ThreatLabz 2024 VPN Risk Report underscored the vulnerabilities inherent in legacy VPN approaches, revealing that 56% of organisations experienced VPN-related cyberattacks in the past year. The partnership with Google is anticipated to address these concerns by providing secure access to private applications without reliance on remote access VPNs. By integrating Zscaler's capabilities with Chrome Enterprise, enterprises can reduce their dependence on costly and complex endpoint security agents and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) products.

Key features of the new solution include Zscaler's ability to ingest signals from Chrome Enterprise, enabling enhanced security postures, improved threat detection, and informed access control decisions. Furthermore, Zscaler's Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities integrated with Google Workspace will help organisations prevent the exfiltration of sensitive data from key applications, bolstering data protection and compliance efforts.

Simultaneously, Zscaler has also announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to harness AI for cybersecurity enhancements. Leveraging NVIDIA's AI technologies, Zscaler aims to deliver advanced user experience and security-centric copilot services, with an emphasis on proactive threat defence and simplified IT and network operations. By incorporating NVIDIA's AI advancements, Zscaler plans to enhance its Zero Trust Exchange platform’s capability to rapidly identify and respond to cyber threats and anomalies.

The Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange, touted as the world's largest security cloud, processes more than 400 billion transactions daily. By incorporating AI-driven solutions such as the Zscaler ZDX Copilot with NVIDIA's NeMo Guardrails and Morpheus frameworks, the collaboration will enable real-time threat detection and advanced data processing. This alliance exemplifies the growing significance of AI in achieving a proactive cybersecurity posture.

Punit Minocha remarked, "The advancement of a cybersecurity vendor’s AI is becoming the critical ingredient in its ability to maintain an advantage over adversaries. Zscaler is committed to safeguarding AI with AI, and this collaboration with NVIDIA further builds on our leading position in the cybersecurity market."

Pat Lee, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at NVIDIA, added, "Generative AI and accelerated computing are transforming every industry and enterprise. With the integration of NVIDIA's AI software portfolio, Zscaler's ZDX Copilot can now provide developers the security and protection needed to detect cyber anomalies and accelerate IT safety."
