2degrees joins the Micro-SIM race

Thu, 29th Jul 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

From this Friday (July 30th) 2degrees customers can swap their current SIM cards for a new 2degrees Micro-SIM card for free.

Micro-SIMs are a smaller version of a traditional mobile phone SIM card and are designed for use with the latest Apple mobile devices.

2degrees has introduced the new card in response to customer requests. Chief Marketing Officer, Larrie Moore, said, “We have a significant number smartphone users on the 2degrees network and a reasonable percentage of those are using an Apple mobile device.”

The company adds that, “To take advantage of the SIM-swap, customers are required to call 0800 022 022 from Friday July 30th to initiate the process.”

The Micro-SIM card will also be sold from August 3rd for $20.00 (with $20 of credit) into Dick Smith stores.
