FYI, this story is more than a year old

Microsoft is planning to hold a cloud summit in Auckland on February 22nd to discuss the myths, challenges and opportunities surrounding cloud computing.

Being lined up for the event are Gartner analysts who will attempt to explain the myths, challenges and opportunities. A portion of the event will also be dedicated to understanding Microsoft’s very own cloud strategy.

“With an increasing number of businesses, large and small, adopting web as a key platform to run their businesses, cloud computing is now moving beyond hype,” the company’s invite reads. “From enabling new business models to generating new efficiencies, the motivation among the businesses to make the cloud real for their specific context has been growing.”

The event will take place on February 22nd at a location to be announced in the Auckland area.

More details are promised soon.

Update: Microsoft has confirmed that the event will be held at:

SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre
