FYI, this story is more than a year old

Bill McCracken, Chief Executive Officer of CA Technologies, has said that firms may be left behind if they don't embrace today's emerging technology.

In his keynote address at CA World 2010, McCracken (pictured) said, “As we emerge from the global economic downturn, we have a tremendous opportunity to leap forward and embrace change, or risk being left behind.” He went on to describe his vision for how all businesses will evolve. “People still ask if I think the cloud is really going to happen. I say no; I don’t think it’s going to happen. I know it is going to happen because it is happening now.

“Virtualization and cloud computing will enable businesses to adapt to rapidly changing market and customer needs. We will be right there to help our customers gain a competitive advantage as this critical inflection point in our industry takes hold.” Earlier this week the firm renamed itself CA Technologies to demonstrate its commitment to “managing and securing IT environments”.
