Deel has acquired software procurement and management platform Sastrify.

The deal expands Deel IT beyond device management into software licence purchasing and renewals.

The acquisition brings Sastrify's software spend tools into Deel's existing IT product, which already covers hardware, security and support. Customers will be able to manage software licences, renewals and related spending through the same platform they use for devices and other IT operations.

The move reflects a broader push by employers and technology teams to tighten control over software spending as the number of workplace applications grows. Companies are also facing more complex renewal cycles and greater scrutiny of underused software, often referred to as shelfware.

Sastrify helps companies track the software they use, manage contract renewals and cut costs. Its service also includes licence negotiation using benchmarking data, giving customers more insight into software pricing across the market.

Many businesses still manage software contracts and renewals through spreadsheets and disconnected systems, according to Deel. That can leave procurement data, usage information and contract terms scattered across teams and tools, making it harder to identify waste or act before automatic renewals take effect.

Software push

Sastrify's functions will add usage intelligence, pricing benchmarks and purchasing tools to Deel IT. Deel said this is part of an effort to turn software visibility into direct purchasing and renewal management within a single system.

The acquisition also expands Deel IT's remit. What began as a product focused on device management is now being positioned as a broader IT operations platform covering both hardware and software across the employee lifecycle.

Businesses have increasingly looked to consolidate these tools as software estates expand and IT departments face pressure to control costs more closely. The growth of artificial intelligence software has added another layer of spending, with companies experimenting with new subscriptions while trying to measure actual use and return.

Software has become one of the fastest-growing costs for modern companies, Deel said, and spending on AI tools could intensify that trend. Bringing software procurement together with device and security management is intended to give customers a clearer view of total IT spending.

Operational change

The Sastrify team will join Deel as part of the transaction. Deel credited founders Sven and Max with building a business focused on the complexity of software procurement at scale, including fragmented workflows, hidden costs and contract oversight.

For customers, the practical change is expected to be a single place to review software usage, spending and upcoming renewals. Deel said this would reduce manual work and help technology teams decide earlier whether to cancel, renegotiate or continue contracts.

That approach addresses a longstanding problem in corporate software management. Individual departments often buy applications independently, while finance, procurement and IT each hold only part of the information needed to understand how much a company is spending and whether the tools are being used.

By combining procurement data with usage information and renewal timing, companies can spot overlapping subscriptions, identify products with low adoption and avoid missing notice periods in software contracts. In many organisations, those missed deadlines can lock in another year of spending before managers have reviewed whether a tool is still needed.

Deel framed the acquisition as part of a broader IT lifecycle offering, bringing together hardware and software provisioning, management and support. The combined system will also include built-in controls aimed at improving oversight of IT assets and spending.

"IT doesn't stop at devices. Now, neither does Deel," said Michael Ginzo, Senior Director of Product, Deel IT.
