Drury claims zero US interest in Xero data
Following growing customer concern regarding US access to cloud data, Xero CEO Rod Drury has moved to allay the fears, insisting no access has been requested.
With US cloud providers and operators at an all-time low in the popularity ratings, Drury accepts customer concern regarding any potential access to their data.
Yet the Xero founder was quick to insist the company has had no one ask for access, and despite concern expressed via social media, customers have nothing to worry about.
“There’s been a lot of concern expressed on social media but we’ve got in front of the issue with the cloud code of conduct," he says.
“We’ve had no one ask us for access.”
The company, which has recruited 36,000 customers since the end of March, remains confident US officials would take no interest in the financial data of the SMBs which Xero cater for.
Speaking at the company's annual shareholders meeting in Wellington on August 2, Drury revealed Xero now has 193,000 customers, with an 80% pickup in annual sales expected during 2014.
