Ericsson showcasing wireless innovations at MWC 2025

Today

Ericsson Enterprise Wireless is illustrating the potential impact of advanced wireless technologies on businesses at Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona.

They will present several interactive demonstrations at their booth, focusing on Private 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, and AI-driven applications across various industries.

One of the key exhibits is a Neutral Host Demo that compares Ericsson Radio Dots with traditional Active Distributed Antenna System (DAS). This showcase uses two stylised office buildings to highlight the advantages of Ericsson's technology over conventional systems. The display will include real-world case studies demonstrating improvements in efficiency, performance, and scalability.

Another demonstration involves a scaled-down replica of a Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) manufacturing floor. This display will show the latest manufacturing applications powered by 5G, with contributions from partners like Litmus, Atlas Copco, Streamwide, Zebra, and Dassault Systems. It will also feature the location capabilities of network APIs and the role of Ericsson Cradlepoint routers providing Wi-Fi connectivity for business applications such as Vonage. JLR has already replaced over 100 miles of copper wiring with Ericsson Private 5G to enhance data speed, security, and scalability.

Ericsson will also present a Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) demo for small businesses. This includes a storefront display featuring the new X20 router designed for FWA with integrated Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) services. Additionally, the demo incorporates a Vonage customer loyalty application that uses network APIs and Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging to improve customer engagement and loyalty.

For healthcare settings, Ericsson will demonstrate how 5G and AI-driven computer vision can streamline inventory management. A hospital supply room demo will highlight how AI-powered cameras track inventory in real-time and update a live screen as supplies are taken. The demonstration will also present live network APIs enabling access control features, such as remote door unlocking, along with other IoT-driven applications.

In-vehicle applications for public safety form another component of Ericsson's display. This includes a demonstration of how an Ericsson Cradlepoint 5G ruggedised router can transform any vehicle into a mobile office. An interactive Forward Thinking demo will let participants see how technology might enhance driver safety through monitoring of cell phone use and driver fatigue. As part of this exhibit, the Haas Alert system will demonstrate its ability to notify civilian vehicles about nearby active emergency response units, aiming to reduce roadside collisions and improve public safety. The demo will also illustrate how developers can use network APIs to create applications to assist public safety organisations in communicating with communities during crises.

Ericsson's showcase at MWC 2025 will present how enterprises can adopt advanced wireless connectivity to enhance operations and support innovation across sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and public safety. These solutions are designed to align with the industry's movement towards more intelligent and agile enterprises.

Attendees at the Ericsson Enterprise Wireless booth will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the transformational role of 5G, AI, and edge computing in various industries.
