FYI, this story is more than a year old

After being on a boat for the last few weeks, Gen-i has confirmed to us that its LG Optimus 7Q is now available to clients.

From Monday Gen-i will begin to provision pre-ordered stock to clients.

The device is the first Windows Phone 7 device to be available for Telecom's  XT network.

“We are keen to see our clients take advantage of the benefits we can deliver with the Windows Phone platform,” the company said. “It offers an exciting platform for businesses to develop applications which work across mobile, desktop and cloud-based services. “

The RRP for the LG Optimus 7Q device is $899.

“Our clients have mobile plans and pricing customised to meet their individual needs and, as a result, many clients will receive a discounted or free device,” Gen-i added.

There was no indication from Gen-i on when the device might be available to Telecom’s non-business consumers.
