Google Cloud unveils AI-powered Agentspace for enterprises

Yesterday

Google Cloud has introduced Google Agentspace, a new tool offering AI agents and AI-powered search capabilities for enterprises, aimed at enhancing productivity by integrating advanced AI functionalities and secure data management.

Mark Micallef, Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Google Cloud, stated: "For enterprises, brilliance isn't just about individual genius – it's about the collective intelligence within an organization. But this brilliance is often hidden in silos, inaccessible to those who need it most, when they need it most. Our studies show that enterprise workers use an average of four to six tools just to ask a question and get an answer. With Google Agentspace, we're providing enterprise workers with a team of AI agents that act as their helpful sidekicks. These AI agents help employees search for information, obtain insights, generate content, and take actions across enterprise systems – all with a single prompt, empowering them to focus on their most impactful work and unlock new levels of productivity."

Google Agentspace introduces several components, including NotebookLM Plus, which allows employees to upload and synthesise information securely, thereby facilitating effective teamwork. This offering includes features such as Audio Overviews to engage with data and is equipped with security enhancements aimed at enterprise use.

The Unified Multimodal Search Agent, part of Agentspace, serves as a multilingual AI with conversational capabilities. It integrates with familiar tools like Google Drive and Microsoft SharePoint, enabling seamless access to structured and unstructured data within an organisation, enhancing decision-making capabilities.

The platform also facilitates achieving operational efficiencies by automating routine tasks, improving research processes, and creating content more swiftly. This allows departments to unlock productivity potential and innovation across various functions.

Google Agentspace supports scalable AI deployment through an interface that companies can leverage for accessing expert AI agents, thus promoting collaborative workflow management. Security features built into Google Cloud's infrastructure provide enterprises with confidence in deploying AI across their organisations.

Dennis Seah, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at FairPrice Group, remarked: "Our team of over 12,000 dedicated staff is united by a shared purpose: to make every day a little better for our customers by keeping daily essentials within reach for all. As Singapore's largest food retailer, we understand that our people are the key to delivering on our social mission. To empower them with the tools they need to put their best foot forward every day, we are building an organization-wide research and assistance platform with Google Agentspace, with the aim of reducing manual effort. Google Agentspace will equip our employees with both a seamless research assistant that searches across all our documents, internal systems, and even third-party applications, and a task assistant using natural language. Our ultimate goal is to improve knowledge discovery and streamline processes across our enterprise. By enabling our people to access and share knowledge effortlessly, we can foster improved customer experiences and enhanced operational efficiency."

Youssef Bakkali, Group Product Manager at Decathlon, expressed enthusiasm: "At Decathlon, we're driven by a passion for sports and a commitment to innovation. Google Agentspace's ability to connect teams with the right information from across the organization and provide self-service assistance is incredibly promising. Google Agentspace could become an essential enabler for product designers, marketers, and researchers, enabling them to make faster, more informed decisions, and ultimately deliver even better experiences for customers. Our cross-functional teams see its great promise to meet our needs – from data to workplace tools."

Alan Triggs, Chief Digital Officer at Nokia, added: "At Nokia, we create technology that helps the world act together, to connect and improve the world. Google Agentspace has the potential to revolutionize how our teams across Nokia find and leverage critical insights. We're particularly excited by Google Agentspace's ability to blend various data sources into quotes, and deliver personalized, contextually-relevant answers. By unifying our knowledge resources, providing AI-powered assistance, and automating workflows, we strive toward reduced time spent searching for information, faster decision-making, and improved collaboration and productivity."
