Harbor Solutions launches in ANZ to boost cyber recovery

Today

Harbor Solutions has announced its strategic entry into the Australian and New Zealand markets, extending its cyber resiliency and data recovery services in partnership with cybersecurity provider Rubrik.

Steven Baker has been appointed as the ANZ Country Manager and will oversee the regional expansion. In his new role, Baker is responsible for identifying new opportunities, driving growth, and leading operations, which include sales, marketing, partnerships, and customer outcomes.

Market context

The decision to expand into Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) comes in response to increasing regional demand for robust cyber recovery services amid rising cyber threats. Recent research from Rubrik indicates that 92% of local organisations experienced a cyberattack in the past year. Of those affected, 78% reported partial harm to their backup and recovery options, and 35% said the attack was completely successful in this regard.

As hybrid IT environments and cloud adoption accelerate, many organisations remain unprepared to address new vulnerabilities, spurring the need for effective cyber recovery models and strategies that span technology, people, process, and incident response.

"Many organisations today are still using back up technology that was never intended to support them in the wake of a cyberattack," said David Rajkovic, Regional Vice President, Australia and New Zealand at Rubrik. "Companies need a cyber resilience strategy that allows them to rapidly recover data and operations from a specific point in time, as close to the intrusion point as possible."

Strategic growth and leadership

Harbor's entry into ANZ is the first phase of its wider APAC growth strategy. The company aims to secure a significant share of future revenue from international markets and cites strong cultural alignment as a reason for choosing Australia as its initial launchpad in the region.

Baker's appointment as Country Manager will see him report directly to Harbor's Chief Revenue Officer. His responsibilities cover the full spectrum of business operations in the region.

"We're not just expanding geographically; we're scaling a model that's proven to deliver results when it matters most," said James Harris, CEO, Harbor Solutions. "Clients today aren't looking for just another vendor. They need partners who can deliver cyber recovery outcomes in the midst of chaos. Our ability to operationalise complex recovery into clear, repeatable processes is what truly resonates in the ANZ market."

Baker also highlighted the significance of this market for Harbor's services, noting the technology adoption rate in the region:

"Business resilience today relies on meticulous data management - ensuring security, maintaining compliance, and mitigating risk are no longer optional; they're essential," said Baker. "Leading Harbor's expansion in ANZ is an exciting opportunity. The region is at the forefront of technical adoption, especially in cloud technologies, and we see strong synergy between cloud tech and our expertise."

Partnership and customer benefits

The expansion has been driven in close partnership with Rubrik, allowing Harbor to offer localised, managed services based on Rubrik's data protection platform. The collaboration is designed to deliver customers improved recovery outcomes with faster and more effective response to cyber incidents.

Rajkovic highlighted the value of the partnership for local businesses:

"Harbor Solutions' presence in ANZ is a strategic advantage for us to scale business together and ensure organisations are equipped with the cyber recovery services they need to keep their businesses operating even in the midst of a serious cyber attack," said Rajkovic. "Harbor has a track record of delivering real, measurable recovery outcomes for customers. Together, we can offer organisations what they need to face today's threats and tomorrow's challenges."

Harbor Solutions, founded in 2014, provides end-to-end data protection services and offers solutions designed to safeguard businesses from cyber threats and operational disruptions, integrating with existing infrastructure to support business continuity and data security objectives. The company supports multiple vendors and platforms, and was recognised with the Rubrik Global MSP of the Year award in 2024.
