HP New Zealand honours partners for excellence & sustainability
HP New Zealand has named the recipients of its 2025 Partner Awards, highlighting key companies and individuals helping to deliver technology solutions across the country. This year's awards acknowledged achievements spanning retail, enterprise, and sustainability initiatives within the HP partner network.
Key winners
PB Tech collected the Service Partner of the Year award in recognition of its work in customer support and product integration. Retailer categories saw JB Hi-Fi named PC Retailer of the Year, while Noel Leeming was selected as Print Retailer of the Year. Securecom took the accolade for Commercial PC Partner of the Year, and Dicker Data was named Distributor of the Year. Cyclone was awarded Sustainability Partner of the Year for its approach to circular recovery of IT materials.
Partner network impact
HP New Zealand continues to rely on its network of partners to bring devices, services, and support to a broad base of customers. This year's awards placed emphasis on the role of collaboration between HP teams and the partner ecosystem, from channel partners through to distribution and service firms.
"Each year, our partner community continues to set a new benchmark for excellence in New Zealand's technology sector. What stands out in 2025 is not only the calibre of innovation and customer impact, but the sense of shared purpose that has grown across our ecosystem," said Shannon Harris, Managing Director, HP New Zealand.
Industry recognition
An individual award was presented to Paul Robertson of Ingram Micro, who was named the 2025 HP Legend. The award recognises Robertson's 25-year tenure as a partner to HP, marked by extensive product knowledge, long-standing relationships, and engagement across the partner network. Robertson remains a respected figure both within his organisation and in the wider technology sector.
The full list of award categories included Acquisition Partner, Channel Sales Person, Commercial PC Partner, Digital Manufacturing, Distribution Sales Person, Distributor, Enterprise PC Partner, Marketing Excellence, Poly Partner, Print Partner, Print Retailer, PC Retailer, Service Partner, SMB Partner, and Sustainability Partner. Multiple finalists were named in each category, with winners selected based on criteria such as customer service, technical achievements, and market performance.
Sustainable initiatives
Cyclone was singled out in the Sustainability Partner of the Year category for its approach to device protection bag recovery. The company has implemented a national programme to repurpose or recycle materials including nylon, polyester, plastic, and metal, previously ending up in landfill. The initiative is designed to extend product lifespans and address the challenge of recycling complex materials at the end of their lease.
Future collaboration
HP's annual awards were developed as part of a broader effort to recognise local partners and reinforce the company's alignment with channel participants. This collaborative approach is expected to continue, with an emphasis on sustainability, customer experience, and contributing to digital equity in New Zealand.
"We are incredibly proud to celebrate this year's winners and finalists. Their leadership continues to drive the industry forward and to deliver meaningful outcomes for communities and businesses. We look forward to building on this progress together over the year ahead, deepening local partnerships and delivering devices and services Kiwi can rely on," said Harris.
