Huawei Cloud launches the CodeArts Agent in Singapore

Huawei Cloud has commercially launched CodeArts Agent in Singapore, an AI coding tool with 16 specialised agents.

The launch adds Singapore to Huawei Cloud's rollout of AI-based software development products for coding, testing and code review.

CodeArts Agent is aimed at developers and enterprises working on larger software projects. According to Huawei Cloud, it covers the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, coding, testing, issue resolution and code review.

The product combines code models, integrated development environment tools and automated workflows. It supports code generation, software development question-and-answer functions, and automated unit test generation.

Product scope

One of the main features is an "Agent Team" of 16 specialised agents. Huawei Cloud said these are designed to mirror how engineering teams divide work across different stages of building and maintaining software.

The tool also draws on Huawei Cloud's internal software engineering practices. It includes specification-driven development functions and more than 30 reusable engineering skills derived from Huawei's own development methods.

Another element is code analysis at scale. Huawei Cloud said the system can understand and retrieve code across tens of millions of lines, helping developers work on existing systems rather than only generating new code from scratch.

The product can be accessed through AI-native development environments, plugins, and command-line or text-based interfaces. Organisations can also use management and security controls to fit the tool into existing workflows.

Singapore push

Huawei Cloud used the Singapore launch to outline a broader regional AI strategy. Tim Tao, President of Huawei Cloud Solution Sales, linked the product to the company's wider effort to build out infrastructure and services for enterprise AI use.

"Singapore is at the forefront of global AI adoption and is entering a new phase of large-scale deployment, mainstream adoption and value-driven development. Huawei Cloud will continue to deepen its presence in Singapore, advancing our Agentic AI strategy through closer integration of software and hardware, while building a comprehensive technology stack spanning AIDC, Agentic Infrastructure, Model as a Service (MaaS), and agent development platforms. Together, these capabilities will provide a robust 'Silicon-Based Black Soil' foundation for enterprise AI innovation. Following the launch of CodeArts Agent, Huawei Cloud plans to bring more agent products and solutions to Singapore and the broader Asia-Pacific market," said Tao.

This positions CodeArts Agent as part of a broader commercial push in Singapore, where cloud providers and enterprise software companies are competing for demand for generative AI tools in day-to-day programming work.

Huawei Cloud said AI coding products are moving beyond basic code completion and generation toward systems that can interpret projects, plan tasks and divide work across multiple agents. It argued that this is changing how developers interact with software tools, shifting from one-off prompts to more continuous collaboration.

Early access

Alongside the launch, Huawei Cloud introduced a Singapore CodeArts Agent Early Bird Program for eligible enterprise users. The programme offers three months of complimentary access to the Professional Edition.

Organisations that join can also receive additional support, including one-to-one coaching from local experts and enablement services designed to help companies build AI-based software development processes.

The Singapore debut reflects growing competition in AI-assisted software development, as cloud providers, coding platform operators and model developers try to move from simple assistant tools to products that can take on more structured engineering tasks.
