FYI, this story is more than a year old

Auckland-based payment software and services company GFG Group has brought a 17-year veteran of the company back from a position in Dubai to help manage ‘a major step change in the positioning of the company’s services’.

As well as Dubai, Wayne Robinson has also served the company in Melbourne and Moscow, where he worked for two years managing a card system installation at The Savings Bank of the Russian Federation.

His new title will be senior vice president – sales and marketing.

Dennis Row, executive director of GFG Group, says Robinson’s combination of technical and business nous as well as his profound understanding of GFG Group make him perfect to lead the company in its new endeavour.

"We have been successful with our card and mobile payment solutions, alongside our sophisticated testing tools,” Row says.

"However, there is a much bigger opportunity to build on that platform by delivering secure, end-to-end payment solutions spanning all mobile devices and card types.

"Wayne is the perfect fit for this new role – he has the experience and skill set we need to lead this step change in our sales and marketing.”
