Kordia appoints Glen White as Executive GM of Cyber Security

Tue, 30th Apr 2024

Kordia, the Auckland-based telecommunications provider, has announced the appointment of Glen White as Executive GM - Cyber Security. White, a respected leader recognised for his strategic vision and commitment to customers, joined Kordia in 2018 and until recently served as the Executive GM of Kordia Solutions, the business unit focused on infrastructure and field services for mission-critical communications technology.

Neil Livingston, Kordia's Interim Chief Executive, lauded White's significant contribution to the organisation. "As the head of our Solutions business unit, Glen has overseen revenue growth and innovative approaches in a challenging and complex environment," Livingston says. "He's built exceptional customer relationships and driven a high performing team as they execute mission-critical projects in New Zealand and the wider Pacific. We're excited to see what he'll be able to achieve at the helm of our cyber business."

In his new role, White will spearhead Kordia's cyber security business, focusing on delivering robust outcomes for customers. His responsibilities will include oversight of the company's Cyber Defence Operations and Aura Information Security – an independent consultancy owned by Kordia. The company's cyber security business has emerged as a strategic growth focus for Kordia, with revenues growing over 60% year on year in the managed security space last financial year.

White's key priority as he transitions into his new role is addressing the contemporary business landscape's significant risk area - cyber security. "Kordia has one of the strongest and most comprehensive cyber security teams in the country," White says. "I'm looking forward to leading this team of talented and experienced professionals, and focusing on evolving our expertly designed technology solutions to help our customers become more cyber-resilient."

Kordia's expanded cyber portfolio provides a holistic suite of solutions and services, encompassing continuous monitoring and detection, incident response and digital forensics, penetration testing and advisory consulting – all deployed with the objective of enhancing cyber resilience for its customer base.

White's extensive career spans the telecommunications and broader ICT sector in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Before joining Kordia, he held a series of key positions with Dimension Data and Spark, where he was instrumental in driving favourable client and business outcomes.

The new assignment is effective immediately. Glen White will replace Dermot Conlon, who joined Kordia in 2021 following the acquisition of managed security business SecOps NZ, a business he co-founded in 2016. Conlon played a vital role in integrating SecOps into Kordia's organisation and will leave the company in June.
