Lemongrass unveils update to cut SAP cloud downtime
Lemongrass has announced an enhancement to its LCP Migrate solution aimed at reducing downtime for enterprises migrating to RISE with SAP.
For businesses operating complex SAP environments, migrating to the cloud has been a challenging process often involving significant downtime and financial losses. Lemongrass's LCP Migrate addresses these issues by reducing downtime to a near-zero level, which enables a faster and less disruptive transition to cloud-based systems.
The LCP Migrate services are designed to handle large-scale migrations, capable of moving environments with databases from 10TB to over 150TB in a downtime window of just 4 to 12 hours. The solution employs Lemongrass's proprietary automation and orchestration platform, offering support for both homogeneous and heterogeneous migrations to the cloud.
Karl Fahrbach, Chief Partner Officer at SAP SE, remarked, "SAP is committed to driving optimal customer experiences. LCP Migrate highlights how our partner ecosystem makes this a reality through innovative offerings that cut migration time and get our customers with complex systems running on RISE with SAP as quickly as possible."
This latest update includes a browser-based interface for Migrate Workbench with Ansible automation workflow, assisting customers in managing their migration processes comprehensively. The platform also incorporates AI capabilities to streamline project timelines.
RISE with SAP integrates SAP cloud ERP solutions with cloud operations. LCP Migrate supports these transitions, facilitating migrations from legacy systems to modern operating systems running on RISE with SAP, and enabling moves from Oracle databases to SAP HANA with minimal downtime. Customers can also alter application versions during migrations.
Eamonn O'Neill, Chief Technology Officer at Lemongrass, stated, "This next evolution of LCP Migrate allows clients to relocate their digital estate to RISE with SAP running on their preferred hyperscale Cloud provider with near-zero downtime. The update also includes a browser-based interface for Migrate Workbench with Ansible automation workflow, allowing customers to create, manage, and analyze their migration process from start to finish. LCP Migrate also leverages Lemongrass's trained AI to compress the overall project timeframe."
Mike Rosenbloom, Chief Executive Officer for Lemongrass, commented, "With LCP Migrate, we've seen technical downtimes in migrations reduced by up to 98% and delivered within our guaranteed downtime window. I am very excited about this new service which can extend these advantages to our customers choosing to move their systems to RISE with SAP."
Alongside LCP Migrate, Lemongrass offers its patent-pending MDO (Minimum Downtime Operations) service, designed to minimise planned downtime and optimise the performance and security of critical workloads.
Lemongrass has recently been recognised with the 2024 AWS Partner Award as Industry Partner of the Year for Consumer Goods, highlighting its role as a key player in the cloud services sector and a trusted partner for customers transitioning to cloud-based operations.
