Microsoft's APAC leadership change
New Area Vice President for Asia Pacific, Tracey Fellows (pictured), is charged with overseeing sales, services and marketing for 12 countries in Asia Pacific (including New Zealand) and will report to Jean-Philippe Courtois, President of Microsoft International.
She is also expected to play an instrumental role in helping accelerate cloud adoption in the region.
“Tracey has delivered stellar results for Microsoft in Australia, and in doing so, has become a highly respected and popular leader in the technology community there,” Courtois said. “I know she can bring those successful characteristics to a wider, regional leadership role.”
Fellows migrated to Australia from Canada in her high school years and has over 20 years’ experience in the technology industry. She’s previously held positions at Dell and IBM, before joining Microsoft in 2003. She is currently the Managing Director of Microsoft’s Australia subsidiary.
“The Asia Pacific region is incredibly diverse and dynamic,” Fellows said. “It is also a place where we can do much to deliver on our mission to make technology available to the next generation of users, and I am keen to make the most of the opportunity to work with our partners and governments around the region to deliver on that commitment.
“I am passionate about education and the role that technology can play in developing skills and improving learning, as well as advancing the role of women in the IT industry. We have a track record supporting these goals, and I am keen to ensure we build on these very strong foundations,” Fellows added.
The Asia Pacific Area for Microsoft includes country subsidiaries in Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
Across the region, Microsoft is committed to helping these diverse countries increase the competitiveness, productivity and efficiency of local businesses and governments and drive consumer excitement through the power of technology and the cloud.
Fellows will take over the Area Vice President role on December 22nd (just in time for the Christmas holiday) and will relocate to Singapore from Sydney.
