MowBot unveils Segway Navimow mower in New Zealand

Thu, 22nd Aug 2024

MowBot has launched the Segway Navimow i Series robotic mower in New Zealand. The new product is available for pre-order nationwide, with the first units expected to arrive in early Spring.

The Segway Navimow i Series is designed specifically for smaller lawns under 800 square metres. It features advanced GPS mapping and quiet operation and integrates with the Navimow app, which has won awards for its user-friendly design.

Nick Thompson, co-founder of MowBot NZ, highlighted the relevance of the product: "The Segway Navimow i Series is a game changer for suburban homeowners with smaller lawns. This range aligns perfectly with MowBot's mission to free up Kiwis' time by offering intelligent, eco-friendly lawn care solutions that deliver an immaculate lawn daily."

Two models of the Navimow i Series are being introduced. The i105A model is designed for lawns up to 500 square metres, while the i108A model can handle lawns up to 800 square metres. These models incorporate the latest technological advancements to ensure that each lawn is well-maintained.

A standout feature of the Navimow i Series is its integration with the Navimow app. The app, designed for simplicity, lets homeowners control and monitor their mowers with a few taps. The interface guides users through the setup and operation process, making it accessible even to those with limited technical expertise.

Unlike traditional robotic mowers, the Navimow i Series does not require perimeter wires for setup. Instead, it uses a combination of real-time GPS and AI-driven sensors to map the lawn, navigate obstacles, and ensure thorough coverage. The mowers' operation leaves fine grass clippings behind, which act as natural fertiliser, thus promoting lawn health and reducing waste.

Several technological features further distinguish the Navimow i Series. The Vision Enhanced Locating System (EFLS) uses AI-powered GNSS for precise, centimetre-level positioning. This combines satellite data with inputs from various sensors like cameras, gyroscopes, and accelerometers to navigate the lawn accurately. Its AI-assisted Robot Mower Mapping feature can identify lawn edges during mapping, making setup intuitive.

The mower is also equipped with obstacle detection technology, using a 140-degree field-of-view camera and AI algorithms to identify over 20 common objects. The RTK + VisionFence Technology also assists in areas with weak satellite signals, enabling the mower to continue its operation without interruption.

The Segway Navimow i Series aims to make high-tech lawn care accessible at an affordable price. With prices starting from NZD $2,499, the series sets a new standard for value and innovation in the market.

MowBot is a notable provider of robotic mowing solutions in New Zealand. Headquartered in Kumeu, Auckland, the company operates over 1,000 robotic mowers and partners with Husqvarna Robotics. Their experience and expertise in the field aim to meet the unique needs of various lawns.
