FYI, this story is more than a year old

Wynyard Group has appointed Gareth Cronin as its new Vice President of Engineering and member of its executive team.

Cronin brings more than 15 years of technology and leadership experience to the company and will be responsible for growing and leading the engineering and development group as the company continues to execute for rapid growth and dominance in the Advanced Crime Analytics software market.

Wynyard Managing Director, Craig Richardson, says competition for senior engineering talent is fierce and he is delighted Cronin, who is well-known and respected in the tech sector, has chosen to join Wynyard Group.

“Attracting the best talent in the business is critical to the growth of the business and we’re thrilled to have attracted someone of Gareth’s pedigree," he says.

"Gareth is an outstanding technologist who brings a wealth of leadership experience and passion to his role.

"He has succeeded at large-scale global software companies, bringing world-class products to market and has built terrific teams who have thrived under his leadership. We're fortunate to have him on board at pivotal time in Wynyard’s lifecycle.”

With a proven track record of working in rapidly growing product environments and leading teams through periods of significant expansion, Cronin says the role offers an exciting opportunity to work on game-changing innovation and be part of a collaborative global executive team developing business strategies that will drive global growth.

“Wynyard Group is an exciting organisation making a positive impact through its work in advanced crime analytics and also through its contribution to the broader New Zealand economy," he says.

“I’m thrilled to be joining some of the world’s leading industry experts, to help execute on an aggressive growth plan and build on its strong position in the high growth advanced crime analytics category.

"I am committed to building high-performing and engaged teams who are passionate about their work and am looking forward to helping Wynyard expand its customer base through rapid innovation.”

Most recently, Cronin led the Product Development Group for Orion Health, leading the teams building Orion Health’s products in its global development centres.

Prior to joining Orion Health, Cronin led the development teams at Kiwiplan, a successful New Zealand software house supplying 600 customer sites in the packaging manufacturing industry.

Cronin has a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, work as a Software Engineer, and an MBA from the University of Auckland.
