Next generation of Getac F110 tablet: durability & upgrades

Thu, 27th Jun 2024

Getac has introduced the next generation of its F110 tablet, emphasising its durability and enhanced features aimed at improving performance and efficiency in demanding field environments. The company's flagship model, the F110, has gained popularity across multiple sectors, including defence, utilities, manufacturing, and oil and gas. The new version of the F110 aims to build on this legacy by offering upgraded processing power, brightness, and connectivity.

The new F110 tablet features an upgraded Intel Core 13th Gen i5/i7 processor with Intel UHD Graphics, providing enhanced processing speed and graphical performance. The 1,200 nit LumiBond screen is touted as the brightest ever available on the F110 and supports multitouch modes including touch, glove, and pen. This screen is designed to maintain optimal productivity in various weather conditions, ranging from full sun to rain and snow.

James Hwang, President of Getac Technology Corporation, stated, "The F110 has been a mainstay of our fully rugged tablet portfolio for a long time, and for good reason. Its combination of laptop-level performance and tablet convenience makes it the ultimate field device for customers across sectors and industries where challenging operating environments are par for the course every day." Hwang further added, "The next generation F110 boasts new features and enhancements that help field professionals get the job done at first time of asking, even when faced with adverse conditions and locations."

The F110 tablet also offers a variety of connectivity options. It includes Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211, Bluetooth 5.3, and optional 4G LTE and 5G Sub-6 modules featuring a dual SIM design with both physical and eSIM options. A 5MP webcam has been incorporated for clear visuals during video calls and remote guidance sessions. These connectivity features are particularly crucial for industries such as defence and oil and gas, where remote communication is essential.

For energy efficiency, the new F110 includes DDR5 memory of up to 32GB, which offers higher base speeds and lower power consumption compared to previous generations. The tablet is equipped with user-friendly hot-swappable batteries that can be easily replaced in the field, and it is also compatible with optional high-capacity Li-ion batteries for extended operation time between charges. Field professionals in sectors such as utilities and manufacturing can thus rely on the device for the entire duration of their shifts.

Additionally, the F110 is designed to withstand rugged conditions. It has received MIL-STD-810H and IP66 certification, can endure drops from a height of up to 6ft, and offers optional salt fog resistance. These specifications make it suitable for operations in challenging work environments where the risk of accidental knocks, drops, and spillages is higher.

The new F110 can be paired with various accessories to enhance its utility, including a detachable keyboard, hard carry handle, and secure vehicle docks, thereby maximising mobility and productivity for field operators.

The next generation F110 rugged tablet from Getac is now available for field professionals requiring a reliable digital solution that combines durability with advanced technological features.
