Wed, 31st Jul 2024

Norton has introduced three new plans to its Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. These plans are aimed at providing increased security, privacy, and identity protection for different user needs and preferences.

The new lineup includes Norton Secure VPN for individual use, Norton Ultra VPN for individuals and couples, and Norton Ultra VPN Plus for families.

The updated Norton Ultra VPN claims to offer a combination of speed, reliability, and comprehensive security features. Key features across the plans include content access, malware and scam protection, dark web monitoring, parental controls, and a password manager.

According to a recent Norton Cyber Security Insights Report by Gen, 10 percent of New Zealanders have experienced identity theft, highlighting the necessity of enhanced security features in VPN services.

The company's Chief Product Officer, Leena Elias, commented on the updated offerings: "Today, people need more from their VPN. They need help protecting themselves and their families from an ever-increasing spectrum of modern threats."

"We reimagined our lineup with this in mind, innovating with our award-winning technology to create tailored solutions that provide the most comprehensive online protection, helping people everywhere to regain control of their Cyber Safety with the perfect VPN for their lifestyle."

Norton's three new VPN plans are designed to meet varying levels of security and privacy demands:

- Norton Secure VPN: This plan is aimed at individuals seeking a fast, easy-to-use, and reliable VPN service.

- Norton Ultra VPN: Geared toward individuals and couples looking for added security and privacy protection.

- Norton Ultra VPN Plus: Crafted for families, this plan offers an all-in-one solution to protect the household's devices and data.

Each plan includes a variety of features aimed at bolstering security and privacy. For instance, Norton Ultra VPN includes:

- VPN: It offers a fast, secure, and reliable private internet connection for accessing content both at home and on the go.

- Malware and Scam Protection: The plan blocks dangerous websites and offers real-time protection against malware, ransomware, phishing, and other online scams.

- Parental Control: This feature allows users to pinpoint the location of Android and iOS devices, set physical location boundaries, and block harmful or inappropriate websites.

- Password Manager: Users can create and manage passwords in one secure place, with an encrypted vault, duplicate password detection, and suggestions for improved password security.

- Dark Web Monitoring: Notifies users if their personal information, such as email addresses, phone numbers or credit card numbers, are exposed on the dark web, allowing them to take immediate action to secure their accounts and protect their identity.

The new Norton Ultra VPN plans are compatible with Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS platforms, and the highest tier plan can protect up to ten devices. The pricing for the New Zealand market is set at NZD $89.99 for Norton Secure VPN (one device), NZD $139.99 for Norton Ultra VPN (five devices), and NZD $244.99 for Norton Ultra VPN Plus (ten devices).
