Orcon buys its way into managed services
Thu, 2nd Dec 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

In a move that will see Orcon add managed services to its portfolio of communications products, the company has bought Auckland-based Bizo.

Bizo focuses on the SME and corporate markets with services that Orcon says will round out its business offering.

Services include digital connections, security, software and telecommunications with 24/7 support.

Orcon CEO Scott Bartlett, said, “This is good news for Orcon customers. They now have access to top-of-the-range, reliable and well-priced managed services within an integrated telecommunications company – a one-stop shop, if you will.

“The business has been specifically set up to meet the unique needs of the SME market,” Bartlett added.

Bizo currently employs 22 staff, which will continue to operate out of the company’s Nelson St (Auckland CBD) offices.

Bartlett says that while it will operate under the Orcon umbrella, Bizo will be independent of Orcon retail.

The purchase price was not undisclosed.
