Orica advances global payroll with Dayforce platform

Wed, 6th Nov 2024

Dayforce has announced the successful completion of the second phase of Orica's global payroll and workforce management system implementation using the Dayforce platform.

Orica, a provider of commercial explosives and blasting systems to the mining industry, has now enabled its employees across 18 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia Pacific, Latin America, and North America to use the Dayforce system.

The implementation process is supported by partnerships with Deloitte and Think Best Practice, aiming to unify Orica's disparate systems globally through Dayforce's cloud platform.

Matthew Stewart, Senior Manager, Program Delivery at Orica, commented on the progress: "Building upon the success of the first phase of our Dayforce implementation, we realised significant gains in efficiency and effectiveness during our second phase as we continuously improve upon our new global model."

"As a highly unionised workplace with employees around the world, our transition to the Dayforce platform has unique requirements, made easier by our strong partnership with Dayforce, Deloitte, and Think Best Practice."

The rollout highlights Dayforce's ability to address complexities of operating across multiple geographies with varying compliance and regulatory requirements.

Brian Donn, Managing Director of Asia Pacific & Japan for Dayforce, spoke on these challenges: "Companies operating across geographies face additional complexities driven by local compliance requirements and increased regulation."

"Our single, global people platform has enabled Orica to operate with confidence globally through our rules-based payroll engine and a smarter approach to compliance. We look forward to continuing to work with Orica and our partners to help make work life better for their thousands of employees around the world."

The completed implementation in 2026 is expected to benefit over 12,500 Orica employees spread across 44 countries by utilising the Dayforce platform for a unified HR, payroll, and workforce management experience.
