Portnox enhances security with Microsoft EAM integration

Today

Portnox has announced that its Conditional Access for Applications now supports Microsoft External Authentication Methods (EAM). This development aligns with Portnox's mission to provide a unified access control platform, reinforcing its efforts to enhance security and operational efficiency for enterprise organisations.

Portnox provides network access control (NAC) and network security solutions designed to help organisations maintain a robust security posture across all devices, users, and locations. With cloud-native platforms, Portnox enables businesses to secure their network perimeter and maintain compliance in today's increasingly remote and hybrid work environments. The company's solutions offer centralised visibility, automated policy enforcement, and real-time threat intelligence to ensure network security for enterprises of all sizes.

The new integration adds another layer of authentication security for customers leveraging Microsoft Entra ID. It improves user experience by replacing traditional passwords and hackable multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods with certificate-based authentication.

Denny LeCompte, CEO at Portnox, said, "With our support for Microsoft External Authentication Methods, customers can now improve access control and security across their entire suite of enterprise applications managed through Entra ID. This is just one more way Portnox continues to lead the charge in making passwordless, cloud-native access control accessible, scalable, and secure for the modern enterprise."

Microsoft's EAM capability enables users to authenticate using various non-Microsoft solutions, such as certificate-based authentication, FIDO2 keys, and third-party identity providers. This expansion aims to fortify access control policies across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

By incorporating Microsoft EAM, Portnox delivers enhanced controls through continuous endpoint risk posture assessment, which is particularly beneficial for customers utilising Microsoft Entra ID. Additionally, a streamlined login experience facilitates a password-free process and replaces conventional MFA with more secure certificate-based methods.

This integration aligns with Portnox's broader vision of creating a unified access control platform that addresses enterprise organisations' complex security and operational needs. As cyber threats and identity challenges evolve, Portnox aims to ensure its customers can confidently adopt the latest authentication technologies to safeguard their critical IT assets.

The company has emphasised its commitment to offering phishing-resistant, passwordless authentication with risk-based assessment and compliance validation for enterprise applications. These measures are designed to meet the growing security demands posed by the rapid expansion of enterprise networks, the increasing sophistication of cyberattacks, and the widespread adoption of zero-trust principles.
