Salesforce, NVIDIA team up to boost AI innovation in enterprise

Wed, 18th Sep 2024

Salesforce and NVIDIA have announced a strategic collaboration to advance innovation within AI, particularly targeting the enterprise market and the development of autonomous agents and interactive avatar experiences. The collaboration will combine NVIDIA's AI technology with Salesforce's robust platform and Agentforce initiative.

The two companies aim to deliver optimised predictive and generative AI workflows, accelerated data processing, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). The collaboration seeks to offer new insights and improved productivity for sales, service, marketing, and IT teams that rely on Salesforce for customer data management.

Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, highlighted the significance of this partnership. "Together with NVIDIA, we're leading the third wave of the AI revolution — moving beyond copilots to humans and intelligent agents working seamlessly to drive customer success," he said.

"This is what AI is meant to be — powered by the Salesforce Platform and Agentforce, every Trailblazer can harness AI to its fullest potential. By combining NVIDIA's AI platform with Agentforce, we're supercharging AI performance and creating dynamic digital avatars, delivering more engaging, intelligent, and immersive customer experiences than ever before."

Similarly, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang emphasised the transformative potential of AI agents. "In the future, every company, every job will be enhanced by a wide range of AI agents – assistants that will transform how we work. NVIDIA and Salesforce are bringing together our technologies to accelerate the development of AI agents for companies to supercharge their productivity," he noted.

The collaboration promises advanced AI and data capabilities as part of the Salesforce Platform and Agentforce. Customers are expected to see benefits in various areas, including faster and more accurate data analysis, quicker insights, and enhanced model throughput to improve interactions across multiple industries.

These AI agents could have real-world applications in several sectors. For instance, during a product recall or service outage, an AI agent could efficiently manage high volumes of customer inquiries while escalating urgent issues to human agents. In travel and logistics, AI agents might predict and adjust routes based on real-time weather data, updating stakeholders and customers with timely information to minimise disruptions. Additionally, customer support AI agents could provide immediate solutions by leveraging real-time CRM data during live chats.

Furthermore, the partnership aims to make significant advancements in Salesforce Data Cloud, which unifies and harmonises structured and unstructured customer data in real time. The platform's "Zero Copy" capability allows Salesforce customers to swiftly connect to their enterprise data, enabling Agentforce to analyse and act more effectively.

The collaboration will also focus on developing AI-powered avatars through NVIDIA ACE, a collection of digital human technologies and NIM microservices integrated with Agentforce. These avatars are expected to deliver more engaging, human-like experiences across various customer and employee interaction scenarios. Companies will have access to pre-built Agentforce agent experiences and NVIDIA NIM Agent Blueprints to expedite the deployment of these AI agents.

Potential applications of these AI avatars include real-time sales coaching feedback, where an AI agent could analyse conversations and provide in-the-moment suggestions to improve engagement. AI avatar kiosks might manage ticketing, seating, and customer preferences during live events, ensuring optimal attendance and experience. Personalised training avatars could offer relevant lessons and coaching in real-time for employee training.
