Shippit debuts Insights tool to enhance retailer delivery operations

Shippit, a delivery platform utilised by over 4,000 retailers across the Asia-Pacific region, has introduced Shippit Insights, a solution aimed at giving retailers an extensive view of their shipping and delivery operations. This tool enables retailers to analyse more than 250 data metrics in real-time, providing them with the ability to discover efficiencies, identify cost savings, and enhance customer delivery experiences amidst rising competition and economic challenges.

The introduction aligns with the current focus on unit economics and the importance of delivery in customer loyalty decisions. Research conducted by Shippit and Jarden indicates that delivery is the second most influential factor affecting brand loyalty, following closely behind price. According to the study, one in three consumers have raised their expectations due to the presence of global retail giants Amazon and Temu.

Shippit Insights allows retailers to extract actionable insights throughout the entire shipping journey, from the shopping cart to the customer's doorstep. These insights are provided via dashboards that have been tailored in collaboration with leading retailers in Australia. The dashboards are customisable to address the specific needs of individual retailers and present data in an easily accessible manner.

Baby Bunting, a retailer specialising in baby products, is one of the users of the new analytics tool. Rod Williams, GM Online at Baby Bunting, remarked, "Accessing data-driven insights directly within Shippit allows us to drive operational efficiencies, optimise our online order routing and lead informed carrier negotiations. Collectively, all of these insights are helping to improve our online delivery offer and profitability across Australia and New Zealand."

Inga Latham, Chief Product Officer at Shippit, highlighted the collaborative nature of the new solution. Shippit Insights offers metrics for various teams within retail organisations:
