FYI, this story is more than a year old

Sybase, a subsidiary of SAP, has premiered its interface support for Apple's App Store Volume Purchase Program (VPP), a tool launched in July that allows businesses to deploy and manage apps at volume-based prices.

The interface support runs on Sybase's Afaria platform, which allows IT departments to deploy and manage applications throughout enterprises at volume-based prices.

SAP acquired Sybase in May last year, predicting that the popularity of the app store model with consumers would lead to similar growth in enterprises.

According to Dereck Daymond, managing director for ANZ and South-East Asia for Sybase, "By adding support for the App Store Volume Purchase Program, the Afaria solution will be able to help enterprises quickly and easily deploy a broad range of business applications within their organisation.
