TCS & NVIDIA join forces to advance AI across sectors

Fri, 25th Oct 2024

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched a new business unit in partnership with NVIDIA aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence (AI) adoption across various industries.

The new unit, which forms part of TCS's AI.Cloud business, builds on a partnership with NVIDIA that spans over five years. It will leverage TCS's global centres of excellence, investments in the NVIDIA AI platform, and skilled resources to provide industry-specific AI solutions for sectors including manufacturing, banking and financial services (BFSI), telecom, retail, and automotive.

TCS's recent AI for Business Study highlights that only 3% of businesses in Australia and New Zealand are realising transformative results from AI, partially due to a need for customised AI models.

The unit aims to address these challenges by designing tailored AI adoption strategies. These will be crafted by drawing on TCS's expertise and NVIDIA's AI technologies, including NVIDIA AI Enterprise and NVIDIA Omniverse platforms. The collaboration promises to offer innovative solutions such as TCS Manufacturing AI for Industrials, which applies large language models (LLMs) to convert raw data into actionable insights for manufacturers.

A similar approach is being taken in the BFSI sector with TCS AI Spectrum, offering enhanced regulatory compliance and risk management using AI. Retail businesses can benefit from TCS Cognitive Visual Receiving, a composite AI offering that automates and streamlines warehousing operations.

TCS's collaboration with NVIDIA extends to creating AI-native solutions for telecommunications and the development of an AI-based platform for autonomous vehicles using NVIDIA's simulation tools.

Jay Puri, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations at NVIDIA, noted, "The fusion of TCS' deep industry expertise with NVIDIA AI technology is set to introduce a new era of intelligent enterprise transformation. TCS' new NVIDIA business unit is poised to accelerate AI and simulation with NVIDIA AI Enterprise for building agentic AI solutions and NVIDIA Omniverse for building physical AI solutions, paving the way for AI-driven innovation across India and the world."

Siva Ganesan, Head of the AI.Cloud Unit at TCS, stated, "Curated AI journeys are derived at the intersection of deep-domain and deep-tech. This is a space that TCS has excelled at during every business transformation cycle. Our unique vantage point, at the intersection of business and technology, helps us identify the right opportunities for our customers. With the innovative and efficient NVIDIA AI platform, and our wide scale and proven track record in delivering value, our customers now have a means to faster value realization."

Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing at TCS, expressed, "Manufacturers can now achieve unprecedented accuracy and access the tacit knowledge to optimise their operations, improve decision-making, and drive impactful innovation. This is possible with TCS' Manufacturing AI for Industrials offering, which leverages NVIDIA technology to harness the power of LLMs (large language models) and is fine-tuned with TCS' deep manufacturing industry expertise. TCS is committed to providing manufacturing enterprises with the transformative AI solutions they need to make them future-ready and lead the charge toward a smarter, more sustainable future."

The joint effort further aims to boost TCS's AI-readiness initiative, aimed at empowering its clients with end-to-end capabilities powered by NVIDIA technology. The firm is also working on a new suite of digital twin solutions built on the NVIDIA Omniverse development platform to help various industries enhance their operational efficiencies.

John Fanelli, Vice President of Enterprise Software at NVIDIA, commented, "Factories, warehouses and robotics are the next grounds for physical AI innovation at scale. Combining cutting-edge AI and simulation capabilities can unlock unprecedented potential for intelligent manufacturing operations for TCS clients."
