Trend Micro enhances cloud security for healthcare sector

Today

Trend Micro has announced its continued efforts in providing cloud security solutions tailored for healthcare organisations.

The company has emphasised the role of its AI-driven platform that secures environments across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, allowing healthcare innovators to protect sensitive patient data while driving technological advancement. In an effort to support secure use of AI in healthcare, Trend Micro has released a white paper providing insights into data protection and security strategies for cloud platforms.

Zach Evans, Chief Technology Officer at Xsolis, commented: "We see security as a business enabler. As a leader in developing AI applications in healthcare for over a decade, our sector has grown explosively in recent years.

"Trend Micro gives us the peace of mind we need to accelerate our growth and deliver the innovative AI-powered solutions our customers are demanding. A partner who understands the AWS environment and compliance is invaluable in a highly regulated sector like healthcare," he said.

Phil Bues, Senior Research Manager, Cloud Security at IDC, added: "As organisations adopt AI to drive outcomes, they face risks tied to data exposure and misconfigured cloud environments, and this is fuelling demand for solutions that can bridge security and innovation with real-time visibility and control over sensitive data and identities. Trend's focus on integrating AI-driven security across cloud platforms positions it uniquely to tackle these challenges, enabling organisations in highly regulated environments, like healthcare, to innovate securely and maintain compliance."

Mick McCluney, ANZ Field CTO at Trend, remarked: "The world's most highly regulated government organisations and compliance-driven companies are served best by using Trend Micro to protect their most critical work in the cloud. We're proud to continue this work in a new era of AI innovation, to give customers the confidence they need to go further and faster."

Addressing the growing threats facing AI technologies, Trend Micro has introduced several new security tools. These include AI-Detection & Response (AI-DR) and AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM), which use AI and real-time threat intelligence to enhance proactive security management within cloud environments.

Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) is another tool aimed at offering visibility into sensitive data, assisting organisations in detecting risks such as misconfigurations and vulnerabilities. This tool also aids in responsible AI use by identifying sensitive data ahead of its deployment in databases or AI training.

Additionally, Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) enhances the management of user identities and permissions, while Container Security – Runtime Malware Scanning provides malware scanning for containers on Kubernetes clusters. These solutions are designed to help organisations meet compliance standards and protect against cybersecurity threats.

Trend Micro's unified platform, which combines these advanced tools, seeks to provide comprehensive and cost-effective security management for cloud environments, thus supporting healthcare organisations in leveraging new AI technologies safely.
