Tue, 16th Jul 2024

Veritas Technologies has announced the listing of its Veritas Alta Data Protection on the Google Cloud Marketplace.

This integration is designed to offer customers advanced data protection across various cloud environments, driven by AI-powered automation. The availability of Veritas Alta Data Protection on the platform aims to bolster security measures, data backup, and recovery solutions.

The integration provides several benefits to customers, including enhanced data visibility and governance, automated data mobility, robust data protection, and cost optimisation. According to the company, enhanced data visibility allows for better governance and policy enforcement both on-premises and in the cloud. Automated data mobility is facilitated through policy-based automation, which assists in creating snapshots and protecting application workloads within Google Cloud, thereby reducing potential bottlenecks and enhancing data mobility.

Veritas Alta Data Protection employs multi-layered strategies for robust data protection, which include anomaly detection, malware scanning, and disaster recovery solutions. These features are essential for maintaining cyber resilience in multi-cloud environments. The offering also focuses on cost optimisation by leveraging AI insights to optimise storage strategies, thereby identifying areas of waste and reducing overall storage costs and carbon footprint.

Gary Sievers, Vice President, APJ Channel Sales and Alliances at Veritas, commented on the collaboration: "The process for moving to the cloud or building a new resilient environment within the cloud is often time consuming and complex, requiring expertise in cloud platforms and tools. The latest collaboration with Google Cloud enables our customers to streamline their cloud operations and benefit from scalable, reliable, and cost-effective data management services."

Andrew Cheng, CEO of AsiaPac Technology, emphasised the importance of this integration in addressing growing cyber threats: "Increasingly complex cyber threats present major challenges to enterprise data protection. With Veritas Alta Data Protection now available on Google Cloud Platform, our customers can ensure maximum information governance and policy enforcement, with unparalleled cost flexibility and solution scalability across all Google Cloud Storage types and application offerings, whether on-prem, hybrid or in multi-cloud environments."

Veritas has been collaborating with Google Cloud for several years, aiming to help customers meet increasingly stringent backup, disaster recovery, ransomware protection, archiving, migration, and application resiliency objectives. These solutions are designed to address the increasing challenges of data sprawl, cybersecurity threats, and compliance requirements, providing a comprehensive approach to data management and protection.
