FYI, this story is more than a year old

Workday has announced it has been named a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud HCM Suites for 1,000+ Employee Enterprises.

The company was recognised as a Leader for the seventh consecutive year and, according to the Quadrant, was positioned the highest for overall Ability to Execute.

The report highlights that organisations worldwide are continuing to face significant challenges in attracting, supporting, and retaining talent amid a tight labour market and evolving employee expectations. This, in turn, means that they need to have a unified view of their workforce in order to provide engaging and personalised employee experiences.

Workday says that more than 4,500 global customers – and more than 50% of the Fortune 500 are using Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) to automate HR processes, support and empower employees, and adapt to changing business and workforce needs.

Skills Cloud is included in Workday HCM and leverages machine learning (ML) to maintain skills data, and Workday recently introduced new technology that allows organisations to easily and securely bring skills data in and out of Workday.

The company also provides innovations to support frontline workers, managers, and operations leaders, including Workday Scheduling and Labour Optimisation, a worker-first scheduling solution that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to match labour demands with worker preferences.

This acts as part of a unified workforce optimisation offering that includes Absence Management, Payroll, Talent Management, and Time Tracking to help organisations more easily attract, engage, and retain talent all in one system.

Workday People Analytics also uses AI and augmented analytics to help customers better understand the trends of their workforce, including DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) efforts, retention and attrition, hiring, skills, and performance – and the drivers behind them.

Jo-Anne Ruhl, Vice President and Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand at Workday, says that the company is glad to be recognised as a leader and attributes the success to its market-targeted systems and wide range of use cases.

"An increasingly tight labour market and evolving employee expectations have put increased pressure on businesses over the past few years. These market trends have highlighted the importance of having a modern HR system, that enables greater business agility and provides the right insights and data for workforce planning and management," she says.

"Workday provides this crucial technology backbone, and is thrilled to be recognised as a Leader in the 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud HCM Suites for 1,000+ Employee Enterprises. In ANZ, businesses such as Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Macquarie University, Qantas, St John of God, RAC WA, MECCA, Aesop, and Aurecon rely on Workday's HCM platform to attract, engage, and retain employees."
