Zoom has appointed Carlos Quaderi as Head of Asia Pacific, expanding his remit across the region outside Japan.
Quaderi will report to Graeme Geddes, Zoom's Chief Sales and Growth Officer, and lead the company's go-to-market strategy across Australia and New Zealand, Asia, India and Korea. He previously served as Head of Asia, overseeing regional strategy, sales execution and go-to-market operations across Southeast Asia, Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan.
The appointment gives Quaderi responsibility for a broader APAC business as Zoom looks to grow its enterprise, customer experience, small and medium-sized business, and channel operations in the region. He will remain based in Singapore and continue overseeing Zoom's Asia business during the transition.
APAC has become a key market for technology groups seeking growth from businesses investing in digital communications, customer service tools and artificial intelligence. Organisations across the region are looking beyond standalone productivity software to systems that connect workflows and reduce complexity.
Quaderi brings more than 30 years of technology industry experience to the role. Before joining Zoom, he held senior leadership roles at Workday, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, working on go-to-market strategy and enterprise expansion across Asia Pacific and Japan.
The leadership change comes as Zoom continues to invest in the region, including by expanding its partner network and opening a new office in Singapore.
Regional focus
Geddes described the appointment as part of a broader effort to strengthen Zoom's position in the market.
"APAC is a critical growth region, and our continued investment reflects the opportunities we see across enterprise & SMB segments, CX business, and our partner ecosystem," said Graeme Geddes, Chief Sales and Growth Officer, Zoom.
"Carlos has been instrumental in building our momentum, and expanding his leadership is a natural next step. His deep understanding of the region, customer focus and track record will help more organisations embrace Zoom's AI capabilities in ways that improve productivity, strengthen customer relationships and accelerate business growth," Geddes added.
Zoom has been broadening its pitch to businesses beyond video meetings, with a stronger emphasis on workplace communications, contact centre products and AI tools. In APAC, that puts the company in competition with a wide range of software and cloud providers selling integrated platforms to large companies as well as smaller businesses.
Quaderi's promotion also signals continuity in a region where established customer relationships and local market knowledge can shape sales growth. His previous role leading the Asia business gave him oversight of several of Zoom's faster-growing markets in Southeast Asia and Greater China.
AI strategy
Zoom linked the expanded role to customer demand for technology that helps teams connect conversations with day-to-day work. The message reflects a broader industry shift as communications vendors try to show how AI features can support routine tasks, customer interactions and internal collaboration.
Quaderi said businesses in the region want tools that keep pace with faster working patterns while preserving personal interaction.
"Across APAC, teams are moving faster than ever, and they need technology that keeps pace without losing the human element and momentum," said Carlos Quaderi, Head of Asia Pacific, Zoom.
"I'm excited to work alongside our customers and partners in the region to help them unlock new possibilities with Zoom's AI-powered system of action and open ecosystem, connecting conversations, people and workflows so they can move faster from ideas to impact and achieve meaningful business outcomes," Quaderi added.
Singapore is likely to remain central to that regional push. Quaderi will stay based there as he takes on the broader role, placing the regional leadership position in one of Asia's main technology and business hubs.
